1. Describe some of the conversations you had with the people you indicated in your marketing plan.
I talked to my mom who indicated that after reading the website she felt like she had an understanding of what net neutrality was. When I first asked her if she would mind taking a look at my net neutrality website her response was "Your what? What's net neutrality?... Okay". Afterwards she said that she understood the issue.
I also got positive feedback from my roommates (the sisters Schatzberg) who said that website made the issue clearer for them as previously it was a phrase which they had heard thrown around (and were sure was important), but were not sure the details of. They both liked the "Why should I care?" page. Andrea said she would share the site on her tumblr blog.
2. Did speaking with this person bring about new leads, new information, or new avenues for you to investigate in terms of your project?
Aside from Andrea sharing the site with her tumblr followers she suggested I consider making a tumblr for the movement. One of the frustrations that I have had with Pintrest is finding other people on there interested and involved in the issue. It's hard to find net neutrality pins on Pintrest. Tumblr has a different kind of search and tagging system. Tumblr also has a large activist community that I could reach out to.
3. Were you able to increase your social media presence during break and how?
I tried to increase the social media presence for the movement. So far Pintrest has 3 followers, Twitter has 1, and the Facebook page has 1. I followed/liked more people on each platform. I'm following 17 on Pintrest and 47 on Twitter. The Facebook page likes 13 pages. I also followed or liked my group members on all of the social media platforms that we were both on. I also posted/shared content to the Facebook page and twitter. I re-pinned some pins on Pintrest. I also shared my video on each social media account.
